Ho Chi Minh City Launches a B2B E-commerce Platform for Green Businesses
July 7, 2025

Ho Chi Minh City – July 1, 2025 – Vietnam’s business community celebrates a key milestone in its sustainable development journey: the official launch of EcoHub – the first green B2B e-commerce platform in Vietnam. The platform introduces a transparent digital trade infrastructure that supports enterprises in greening their supply chains and accessing global markets.

The launch event took place within the framework of the Green Trade Forum 2025, co-organized by Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, and Arobid Technology JSC. With a central theme of reducing the “carbon footprint” in commerce, the forum attracted representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, ESG experts, and hundreds of domestic and international businesses.

EcoHub: A Green B2B E-commerce Platform – A Gateway to Green Integration

Unlike traditional B2B e-commerce models, EcoHub is designed as a platform built on three pillars:

  • Emission transparency
  • Green supply chain connectivity
  • Comprehensive digital transformation support

The platform integrates tools for emissions tracking, ESG disclosures, traceability, and compliance with global mechanisms such as the EU CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism) and EUDR (EU Deforestation Regulation).

A standout feature of EcoHub is its ability to connect Vietnamese enterprises directly to the global trade ecosystem, including green finance institutions, low-carbon logistics providers, and international certification consultants. According to Arobid, the system is built with open architecture, initially prioritizing 7 key sectors:

  1. Energy
  2. Transport
  3. Finance
  4. Consumer goods
  5. Digital technology
  6. Materials
  7. Vietmade – green products made in Vietnam

In parallel with EcoHub, the organizers also introduced the 3D Virtual Exhibition “EcoHub XPO – NoCarbon City”, a fully digitized carbon-neutral city model. The exhibition showcases solutions such as solar energy, electric transportation, recycled materials, and clean production - offering a vivid visualization of green living, a core part of Vietnam’s Net Zero by 2050 strategy.

A Changing Market – Businesses Must Act

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Phan Thi Thắng, emphasized EcoHub’s pivotal role in the national green growth strategy:

“This platform provides a practical tool for small and medium-sized enterprises to green their supply chains and gain a competitive edge in demanding export markets such as the EU, U.S., and Japan.”

She also proposed five key strategic tasks:

  1. Improve green transition policies and institutional frameworks
  2. Accelerate the application of digital technology and AI for emission reduction
  3. Develop technical support programs for SMEs
  4. Foster domestic linkages to green the entire supply chain
  5. Build a green consumption culture – creating positive market pressure

Also at the event, Pham Van Truong, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper, remarked:

“EcoHub is the natural progression of a journey we started nearly two decades ago – from communication to action, from ideas to infrastructure, from domestic focus to global integration.”

As Vietnam expands its urban governance model and transitions into a low-carbon economy, EcoHub is expected to serve as a crucial public-private bridge – linking businesses, policies, and technology – to foster a robust digital green commerce community.
